    These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Protect the Refund™ tax preparation services. By using our services or submitting information through our forms, you agree to these Terms.


    1. Scope of Services

    Protect the Refund™ provides tax preparation and related support services based on information provided by the client. We do not provide legal or financial guarantees regarding tax outcomes.

  • Independent Tax Preparer Disclosure

    Protect the Refund™ operates as an independent tax preparation business. While we may use professional tax software, tools, training, or resources provided through preparer networks such as Minority Tax Pros, your tax return is prepared and submitted by Protect the Refund™, not by Minority Tax Pros or any affiliated network.

    Minority Tax Pros does not:

    • Prepare individual tax returns

    • Review or approve tax returns

    • Guarantee refunds, credits, or outcomes

    • Set pricing or service fees

    • Communicate directly with clients regarding individual tax filings

    All client communication, document collection, pricing, and service delivery are handled solely by Protect the Refund™.


    2. Client Responsibilities

    You agree to:

    • Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information

    • Review your tax return for accuracy before filing

    • Promptly respond to requests for additional information

    You acknowledge that the tax preparer relies on the information you provide and is not responsible for verifying the authenticity of documents beyond what is required by law.


    3. No Guarantee of Refunds or Outcomes

    Tax refunds, balances due, credits, and outcomes are determined by tax laws and the information provided. Protect the Refund™ does not guarantee:

    • Refund amounts

    • Acceptance by taxing authorities

    • Processing times

  • Refund Processing, Software, and Third-Party Limitations

    You acknowledge that tax refunds, tax advance products, acceptance decisions, and processing timelines are determined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), state taxing authorities, financial institutions, and third-party processors.

    Protect the Refund™ does not control and cannot guarantee:

    • Refund approval or timing

    • Refund amounts

    • Availability of tax advance products

    • Processing speed or release of funds

    Protect the Refund™ is not responsible for delays, rejections, holds, or errors resulting from third-party software systems, financial institutions, identity verification processes, or government agencies.


    4. Fees and Payment

    • Fees are based on the complexity of your return

    • Payment may be required before filing

    • Additional fees may apply if new information is provided after preparation has begun

    Failure to pay may result in delays or non-filing.


    5. Fraud and Misrepresentation

    You agree not to knowingly submit false, altered, or fraudulent information. Submitting fraudulent information may result in:

    • Termination of services

    • Additional fees

    • Reporting to appropriate authorities when required by law


    6. Limitation of Liability

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, Protect the Refund™ is not liable for:

    • Penalties or interest resulting from inaccurate information provided by the client

    • Delays caused by third parties or taxing authorities

    • Indirect or consequential damages


    7. Communication & Electronic Consent

    You consent to electronic communication, including:

    • Email

    • SMS/text

    • Electronic signatures

    • Online document uploads


    8. Termination of Services

    We reserve the right to refuse or terminate services if:

    • Required information is not provided

    • Fraud is suspected

    • Fees are unpaid

    • Client conduct is abusive or inappropriate


    9. Governing Law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Protect the Refund™ operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.


    10. Changes to Terms

    We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
